Germany had not answered the British and French ultimatums for removing troops out of Poland. On September 3, first Great Britain, followed by France declared war on Germany. It may be noted that France was not sure of its position. France had no choice, however, after Britain made its declaration of war.

The United Kingdom and France declared war on Germany when it invaded Poland on 3rd September 1939. Although fighting didn't start until 1940.

in 1998 when i was born

that is very very wrong it was 1941-2 World War 2 ended sometime around 1945 there is no way that they invaded in 1998
