Hitler killed disabled people and homosexuals as he wanted to create a "perfect race". Hitler referred to this race as the Aryan Race, belief in the existence of an Aryan race is sometimes referred to as "Aryanism". The race was to be made up of people of mostly Caucasian decent and anyone people with abnormalities, deformities, homosexual orientation or disabilities would be killed.

Soon the Jews & all political opponents were added to the list to be imprisoned & later killed. After the German seizure of territory in the Balkans in 1941, then Gypsies were added to list to be sent to either slave labor or death camps. The issue of homosexuals has become an unfortunate myth. In fact, most homosexuals that were persecuted, were targeted because of their political affiliation, racial or ethnic character. In fact several members of the Nazi movement were closet homosexuals. Over the course of Hitler's murderous reign: some Nazi Party members, members of the SA, German military personnel or business leaders were accused (publically) of being homosexual as a means to remove them from their positions of power. Often these accusations were false, and most often these people became discredited, however this did not necessarily lead to them be imprisoned or killed. The German government did not have an organized systematic program to persecute or murder homosexuals, as it truly did with Jews, gypsies, communists, Russian POWs, incapacitated Germans, & political opponents.
