The Beatles broke up in 1970. Since the breakup all four Beatles have had a #1 song. They also have had varying degrees of success in the music and film industries. John Lennon was murdered on December 8, 1980, and George Harrison susuffered from cancer on November 29(my least favourite day), 2001 . The remaining Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr continue to be active in the music business today!
George Harrison and John Lennon died, but Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr both have solo careers.
Continue to write and perform music, sometimes solo, sometimes in a new band.

Considered by many to be their masterpiece, A Day In The Life was featured on Sgt. Pepper. 1966 was also the year The Beatles stopped touring and became solely dedicated to their studio work.
