The Hopi and other Pueblo people to the east and south (Zuni, Taos, Acoma, etc) made villages composed of houses (often connected) of stone with clay mortar and plaster. Some they were multistory like apartment buildings.

The Navajo lived in hogans, which are 6 or 8 sided or round usually made of logs with a domed roof covered with earth and chinked with clay. They always face east and are single rooms.

The Apache lived in wickiups, tipis and in some places hogans. There are many Apaches groups and languages and they lived in different ways.

The Havasupai, Yavapai, Maricopa, Pima and Tonono O'odam and others lived in wickiups.

The Ute and Comanche lived in tipis.

This is not a complete list of the people of the southwest.
