The place to hunt depends on what animal you are after. In broader terms, hunting is usually done on private land by permission of the owner or on public lands that have been designated as open to hunting. In US, this might be a state or national forest or a game preserve. The best source of information on hunting would be the Department of Natural Resources of the state you would like to hunt in. They publish a hunting guide every year which has the dates of the hunting seasons and a list of areas where hunting is allowed.

For food and the challenge of the hunt , all animals that are killed during hunting must be eaten it's a law and you can not buy the same kind of food you get from hunting in a store. like venison from deer or squirrel meat ect. plus this kind of food is much healthier for you it's low in fat and cholesterol.

To answer the question you are asking, literally people hunt for thousands of types of game across the globe. As for Why do people hunt if that is what you are asking.

Hunting is not only important to manage the ecosystem, a role once played by other predators until man removed them, but it is also an important factor to protect the environment (hunters give more money to improve wildlife habitat than any other organization or group) as well as financially stimulating for the economy. True hunting, not that depicted by PETA only showing huntings "bad apples" is full of heritage, ethics,

sportsmanship, and enjoyment. It truly is Americas past time.

The Navajo hunted and some still hunt deer, elk, antelope, mountain goats, big horn sheep, rabbits, prairie dogs, wood rats, sometimes bison (they mostly aren't the Navajo lands).

They did not fish. Eating fish is taboo. Most waterbirds and animals are not eaten. Eating them will make you sick. They did not hunt bears, it is taboo. Keeping bear parts is wrong. Eagles and snakes are not to be killed. You should not kill coyotes They should not kill frogs, lizards, salamanders, and toads, horned toads or Spiders, ants or grasshoppers or bees or stink bugs or moths. Not porcupines. You should not handle feathers from most birds.

Hunters hunt animals. Depending on where they reside the types of game differs. People do not hunt parts of an animal they hunt and kill the whole animal.

They may then USE various parts of the killed animal for various things; the muscles for meat/food, the skin for leather/clothing/shoes, the horns as implements/jewelry etc.

Did Indians draw on their tee pees?

Probably, They draw to Symbolize the animals. The Symbolism of Animals is practiced by learning about the animals and symbolizing them telling if the animal is dangerous, useful, or non dangerous. It would probably be practiced when recording what the hunter has hunted, teaching the young about the animals and what they can do etc. It would probably be practiced by the Men for hunting and recording, and would be practiced by the woman for other things such as skinning and cooking the meat and would symbolize what animal tastes best or keeps you warmer etc. It could also be a pass time, I live drawing and I'm sure they got rather bored.
