That would depend. Does the weight gain cause problems with the one who's gained it or with the one who is having sex with them? If the weight gain is causing medical issues of sexual disfunction then working on weight loss together would be ideal. If the weight gain has caused the "thinner" partner problems because they do not feel sexually attracted to their heavier partner now, then I'd say shame on them. For richer or poorer, sickness and in health, thinner and heavier....this is the person they loved and married. To that one I say get over it and stop being so shallow. They are the same person, just carrying some extra weight now. It does not make them any less than they were when they were thinner. And that kind of mentality is what is wrong with the world today. That is such a tough question; the reason being even though you pledge to be faithful to the person, and love them as a person forever, it is very difficult to dictate sexual arousal. You may intellectually want to be aroused but that is not always so simple. I believe that the spouse who gains excess weight (I'm not talking 10 lbs here) needs to have some accountability as well and communicate to their thinner spouse about it. Alternatly the thinner spouse should try their best to be understanding, supportive but honest at the same time. The idea would be to find out what is contributing to the weight gain and try to work on it together.
Of course it can, you would just have to take an excessive amount (overdose). The amount it takes depends on your body weight, gender, and tolerance to opiates
