Red blood cells are responsible for moving oxygen through the body. When you have low amounts (anemia), or high amounts (too much oxygen being produced) can be dangerous. There are a few different terms. One type is hemoglobin. This is the one where the oxygen is carried. Then when carbon dioxide is being carried, it is known as carboxyhemoglobin.
