In the late 1930's the US hero Charles Lindbergh joined with many other Americans to create an anti war atmosphere. Whatever the value of joining the war before 1941, it seemed correct as the US was not until late 1941 that the US faced the Pearl Harbor disaster.

America's hero from the 1920's Charles A. Lindbergh, was part of a number of anti war groups which were against any involvement in WW 2 in Europe. Lucky Lindy was the first man to solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean. He traveled from an airfield on Long Island NY to Paris. His famous plane is now in the Smithsonian Institute, the Spirit of St. Louis. In the 1930's Lindbergh visited Nazi Germany and received an honorary Iron Cross from Hitler.
