The only land borders are with the US, both in the south and in the northwest (with Alaska). Canada is fairly close to Greenland (part of the Kingdom of Denmark) across Nares Strait. The border between Greenland and Canada apparently runs through Hans Island. The French territory of St-Pierre et Miquelon is about 25 miles off the southern coast of the Isle of Newfoundland.
