I believe you are referring to the US 1908 to 1921 Washington-Franklin issues. There are approximately 50-100 3 cent Washington stamps with values ranging from 20 cents to $80,000 or more. The identification of these stamps require a lot of patience and stamp identification tools. Without the proper identification you don't know which 3 cent stamp that you have. There are coils, imperforates, perf's 8 1/2, 10, 11, 12, watermarks (single & double), types, specials and bluish paper. Then you have the 3 cents in the 'back-of-the-book' (Vending & Affixing Machine Perforations (18)). Then there are the 'PROOFS' and 'TRIAL COLORS'. Finally there are the 3 cent Washington's used in China, Cuba, Canal Zone, Philippines and Puerto Rico. Oops. There are other 3 cent Washington's printed in 1870 (9 issues) that require more identification of grills and secret marks. Egads! There is another one printed in 1932 (SCN 708). I think you get the idea.

The value of a G rate stamp varies depending on the country issuing it and the specific year of issue. In general, G rate stamps are intended for domestic mail and usually have a lower denomination than stamps meant for international or higher-weight mail. It is best to consult with your local postal service or a philatelist for an accurate valuation.
The first US 3-cent stamp was issued July 1, 1851. It contained a profile of George Washington in a rather ornate frame and was red-brown in color.
