∙ 10y agoChiropractic treatment can vary from doctor to doctor as many go on to specialize in different techniques or modalities. However, you can likely expect the chiropractor to take a history and do a physical exam. Assess your spine for motion and/or lack of motion. Possibly use massage or other soft tissue techniques for muscle work. And ultimately adjust your spine. An adjustment will most likely consist of the doctor applying a specified force in a certain direction on your spine to restore motion to that area . You may hear and audible noise, which is very common with adjustments. Other practitioners may use a tool called an Activator. This tool is spring loaded and will ultimately do the same thing as an adjustment, but with less force and to a more localized area.
