Gecko tape is an experimental material that was developed in 2003 by an international team of scientists from the United Kingdom and Russia. It is a tape that has a surface covered with nanoscopic hairs intended to maximize surface area. Gecko tape hasn't been perfected yet, but when it is, it will allow humans to walk on walls and ceilings like the reptile gecko.
It won't!
The scientific name for Tokay Gecko is Gekko gecko.
They have the same name, but their color might be different. The spots and striped might be at their tail, the whole body, or the head. Their skin colors can be yellow, pinkish-orange, and that's all i know. :D
To save any reptile from duct tape or sticker traps: find some cooking spray such as Pam and gently spray the feet and/or underbelly of the lizard. Avoid the eyes and mouth. The spray should remove the stick and the lizard will be mutually uneffected. Very gently run your fingernail on the tape under the gecko's feet, then belly. Sadly, younger reptiles may be already in shock, or scared into shock from the experience, and may die from the shock alone. Certain lizards, especially geckos, will probably drop their tail if it is applied to the tape. Provided the tail does not separate directly at the base of the tail, the gecko will recover.
