Who are the hmong people?

During the Vietnam War, the president at the time had asked Hmong people to help ambush a Viet Supply Line. He promised us that he would help rebuild our great civilization. General Vang Pao had took the offer and entered us in war. The Americans had supplied us weapons and we took the offensive. After the war was over, the vietnamese were mad at the Hmong for betraying the Laotion Gov. We were at war and the president didn't keep his end of the deal. He left the Hmong to fend for themselves with little protection. We were forced to hide in the jungles and flee to Thailand. Only a few Hmong had escaped to America thanks to General Vang Pao. My parents were some of the few that fled to America. So today, we still fight and live in fear. This is the Hmong people...

The Hmong are originally from Southwestern China and the hmong or also known as the Miaos were pushed down to Laos and thailand. The Chinese officials didn't like the way how fast the Hmong population was growing, so they set fire to the Hmong kingdom, burning down houses and old manuscripts, killing a large percentage of the adults and destroying the original language. Only old people and young people were left. The Chinese were going to do worse things to them if the Hmong showed any signs of still being alive, so they fled to neignboring countries and hid in the hills.Its been a very old story that no one can not tell if its the truth or not. It is unknown where and why they did that to us hmong people. That is all for now, nothing else.

Hmong people do not consist of tribes. Yes, there are different valleys and towns where they are from, but unlike Native Americans, no tribes. The Hmong do have similar last names, like Vang or Xiong, etc. But other than that, no tribes.
