US Rangers dont have a specific operation they do. But they could do anything from taking a airfield, assaulting a compound, be on stand-by to assist other Special Forces(because they are a larger force then most SF units).

actually a better question would be what is the marine cores equivalent to the army rangers. the rangers are considered more highly trained and more elite soldiers than the marines (although a marine will tell you other wise). And the marines equivalent would be MARSOC which stands for Marine Special Operations Command.

The original Power Rangers was the Japanese anime/manga Super Sentai, but Power Rangers as the US kid knows it is Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers from 1991-1994. The original didn't actually get the green ranger until later on in the original series, so you will not be seeing Tommy Oliver until the third year of the original series...
You are mixing services. Rangers are a part of the US Army. US Marines are a separate military unit.
