The principle of sustainable farming are:
1)People have enough food
2)the farming activities will not affect the quality of our environment in the long run
How do we develop sustainable farming?
1)Avoid overuse of chemicals
In fact we can use chili and spring onion to replace pesticides. Also we can plant beans and peas to give nutrients to land, use organic fertilizers, such as death plants, mennure of livestocks instead of chemical fertilizers.
2)Better use of farmland
-Crop rotation
Different crop uses different nutrients from the land.By growing different crops each year, the nutrients in soil will not be used up.This is called crop rotation.
-Fallowing
When the farming conditions are not very good, farmers can leave the field to rest for a period of time so that the soil' nutrients can be recovered. This is called fallowing.
-Mixed farming
Rearing livestock and growing crops in the same land can help increasing nutrients in soil cause livestock can release menure and provides nutrients.
3)suitable irrigation
we can use suitable amount of water for irrigation so that we won't waste water, aslo to avoid soil from becoming salty.
4)Avoid developing marginal land
Many farmers grow crops on marginal land but it only gives out small production but destroy the ecosystem seriously.
The practice of farming using principles of ecology and the study of relationships between organisms and their environment
agriculture
You can't BUY sustainable agriculture. It's something that is beyond the price of money, you have to want to make agriculture sustainable. It's a value, not an asset.

Agriculture and culture which is permanent and sustainable is what permaculture is. Belief in and practice of permaculture requires looking at what will keep people and soil healthy and productive.
The motto of Sindh Agriculture University is 'Sustainable Agriculture For Food Security'.
The modern industrial agricultural practices are constantly being modified to become more sustainable. The concept of sustainable agriculture is simply that it creates more benefit for the environment in general than it does harm. A good example of pure sustainable agriculture would be an organic garden which is tended only with hand tools. While this is obviously too small to feed the world's needs, it provides a goal for industrial agriculture.
The benefits of using sustainable agriculture are many. It helps to protect the environment as well as human and animal health. It uses less energy than typical agriculture as well.

Sustainable agriculture is the production of crops by exploiting agricultural resources but without sacrificing the future needs for agricultural resources.Bio intensive gardening minimises the use of resources by not wasting it and therefore falls in the framework of sustainable agriculture.
