Roman Catholic AnswerThe season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, and violet vestments and altar hangings are used until the end of Lent. Lent ends with the Sacred Triduum which begins with the Mass of the Lord's Supper on Holy Thursday, at which white vestments are worn.
