A natural boundary is formed by physical geographic features like rivers, mountains, or oceans, while a political boundary is created by human design, often marked by walls, fences, or treaties. Natural boundaries can change over time due to geological forces, while political boundaries are legally defined and more stable.

One kind of political boundary is the imaginary line that separates one country from another or that marks the edges of a country that lies next to an ocean.

Historically natural boundaries have been lines that invading armies would have found difficult to cross such as wide rivers, extensive deserts or mountain ranges.

Nowadays political boundaries often follow natural boundaries for historical reasons. However, this is not necessarily the case. For example, a large part of the border between the United States and Canada follows the midline of some of the principal rivers and lakes in the eastern region of the North American continent, while west of this the international border is simply the 49th parallel of latitude which follows no natural boundary.

An example of a political boundary is the border between the United States and Mexico, which was established through treaties and agreements between the two countries.

What is the difference between political science and political science?

Improve Political Science is much more focused on the mechanics of the state and political systems. Usually, they focus the study of one particular branch of the state, such as the presidency, legislature, or judiciary. Other branches focus on voting behavior, political parties, relations between states (International Relations/Foreign Policy), or differences between political systems (comparative politics). Science refers to a system of acquiring knowledge. This system uses observation and experimentation to describe and explain natural phenomena. The term science also refers to the organized body of knowledge people have gained using that system. Less formally, the word science often describes any systematic field of study or the knowledge gained from it.

What is the difference between a political and thematic maps?

Political maps show governmental boundaries, such as countries, states, and cities, and often include political features like capitals and borders. Thematic maps, on the other hand, focus on specific themes or topics, such as population density, climate, or natural resources, and represent data through visual elements like colors or symbols.

Difference between science and political science?

Science is a systematic study of the natural world through observation and experimentation to understand and explain phenomena. Political science, on the other hand, is a social science that focuses on the theory and practice of politics, government, and political behavior. While science primarily deals with natural processes, political science examines human behavior, institutions, and power dynamics in societies.
