The 370-4v is a common "torque monster" engine in a lot of big trucks like F600/F700 series dump trucks and in school buses. It's a "385 series" engine, which means it's very similar to the Ford 460, but for some reason, information specific to the 370 is difficult to find online.

The firing order is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8, the distributor rotates counter-clockwise as you look down at it, the #1 cylinder is the frontmost passenger side, and the cylinder numbers are 1-2-3-4 front to back on the passenger side, and 5-6-7-8 front to back on the driver side.
