What is the importance of technology?

People would agree that science and technology are great of importance in the universe and in the community of people in this world. Majority of the countries in this international community are trying continuously to increase their annual budget for science and technology. This development clearly suggests that decision-makers both in government and private sector industry are strongly convinced of the importance of developing science and technology.

Science can alter our conception of ourselves and our place in this universe. Famous instance of this was the series of events known as the SCIENTIFIC REVOLUTION. During this turbulent time of the 16th and 17th centuries, Galileo and other scientists argued that the Earth was not at the center of the universe, but whirled on its own orbited around the Sun. Later Darwin argued that human arose as the product of natural processes and not by divinely wrought miracles.

Technology is necessary for every aspect of human life.

The first technologies were developed by our prehuman ancestors and no modern human from the time we first appeared to the present has not made use of at least hundreds of technologies every single day of their life.

It is even possible that development of certain technologies (e.g. hunting technologies, food cooking technologies) by our prehuman ancestors improved nutrition, making possible the evolution of large brains that ultimately led to modern humans like us.

Human life would be impossible without technology and no modern human (species Homo Sapiens) has ever lived without some kind of technology. The earliest technologies were invented by our prehuman ancestors.

Science is much newer and was only created and systematized in the 1600s. However it has provided new ways of learning about natural phenomena and has lead to a literally exponential growth in the development of better technologies faster than ever before experienced by humans.

Unfortunately people are not well adapted to cope with this rate of technological change, so the resulting stress disturbs many.
