Hard to say. There are different elements of divorce proceedings, and there may continue to be conflicts and challenges even after the property resolution. The lenglemur the trial may be a good measure, though the "divorce" may seem to have gone on for some time leading up to and even following the initiation and outcome of the trial.
In the U.S., the Tauck case of 2007 is often pointed to as a record-setting long trial for the state of Connecticut (87 days, if I remember). However, accurate national figures are hard to track as no one really collects this information, and laws and procedure differ between states. In Illinois, a divorce trial concluded in the fall of 2000 lasted over 100 days. That is the longest that I am aware of. In those extraordinary cases, the trial or pre-trial proceedings may be sealed and not open to the public. The Illinois case was unsealed at the behest of the Sun-Times and Tribune.
I know a couple, in the State of Illinois, who were invoved in a 17 year divorce. I am interested to know if anyone can top that.
