If it's nothing you will be relieved. If it needs attention, the sooner the better. If the lump seems to move with the skin as you touch it, then it probably is not attached to bone. If the lump remains stationary when you touch it, the skin moves over it but it seems to stay in place with bones, then all the more reason to get to your physician now.
