here some questions to help determine the problem: -What mixture of coolant and water are you using? An old or highly water diluted mixture usually reaches higher temperatures higher then a proper mix -Is your fan operational at all times? Is your belt tight? -It could be a real old radiator, but very undoubtly... -A bad/leaky headgasket?! Pull out your spark plugs and see if they are all nice and shiny/clean. Coolant could be getting into your cylinders and -Old or bad thermostat. might not want to open up all the way once it reaches operation temperatures. -Air bubbles in the cooling system. Not quite sure how to check on that. -Does the car seem to have lost power? otherwise check Google.com - very helpfull. If it's a high mileage engine sometimes the timing chain will jump a tooth and the valve timing will be retarded. It will still run Ok but the late timing will cause it to heat.
