I found a chart that gives dosages according to age... Biotin in higher doses might be prescribed by your doctor. There is no known amount that is "too high" but you shouldn't ever chance taking a higher dose unless your doctor tells you to!

0-6 months

5 micrograms/day

7-12 months

6 mcg/day

1-3 years

8 mcg/day

4-8 years

12 mcg/day

9-13 years

20 mcg/day

14-18 years

25 mcg/day

19 years and up

30 mcg/day

For healthy adults who are 19 years and older, The Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine recommends an AI of 35 mcg of biotin per day. For those between 14 and 18 years of age, an AI of 35 mcg is recommended. These requirements are usually fulfilled through a normal diet. Studies by The Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine determined that the average person consumes about 40 to 60 mcg of biotin daily. Egg yolk, liver, avocado and salmon are among the richest sources of biotin.

There sort of isn't one. Biotin, also called Vitamin B7, is produced naturally by bacteria in the intestines, and most people get all they need from that and their normal diet.

The estimated daily intake of biotin in developed countries from dietary sources is in the 50 microgram range. There aren't any known adverse effects from doses higher than that (very rarely, people with some metabolic disorders require high doses of biotin to overcome their body's inability to use it when present in normal amounts).

Now that I have figured out that the biotin was likely behind it, I have stopped taking it as of yesterday. I wonder how long it will take to get better...I had some acne before I started the biotin, but nowhere near as bad as it is now. I now understand that my diet more than supplies my biotin requirement, and I sure wish I hadn't started taking the supplements. Hope this helps :)
