The role of the church should be that of "the Faithful wife and mother who is bearing God's Children."

"Married women, submit to your own husbands as if to the LORD; because a husband is the Head of his wife as Christ also is the Head of the Church, being indeed the Savior of this His Body. And just as the Church submits to Christ, so also married women should be entirely submissive to their husbands." (Eph.5:22-24 WEY Weymouth's New Testament)

[that is, of course, as the analogy goes, if the husband is "entirely submissive to Christ" -- Selfless and Loving -- in his Divinely-inspired role in the marriage structure as God created it.]

The Church of God should be learning, obeying, and teaching the Laws of God, written in His Word, The Bible [the Bread of Eternal Life] to God's Children, through the channeling "umbilical cord" of the Holy Spirit, for their spiritual nourishment, growth, and character-development; feeding their hearts and minds with God's Truth -- so that when the "Deliverer" comes for them, they'll be fully developed, nourished, and prepared for the jobs, offices and positions God has slated for them in co-ruling His Kingdom on earth with His Firstborn Son... the KING of that Kingdom, Jesus Christ.

"For His Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts and tells us that WE ARE GOD'S CHILDREN. And since we are His Children, we will share His Treasures - for everything God gives to His Son, Christ, IS OURS, TOO. But if we are to share His Glory, we must also share His suffering." (Rom.8:16-17 NLT New Living Translation)

The role of God's Church is that of an Obedient, Faithful pregnant woman, bearing God's Children. Collectively, the Church is God's wife; suffering the spiritual and physical struggles and pains of childbirth [life's experiences; good and evil].

Individually, each person within the Church is one of God's precious unborn babies; each one struggling in their own phase of "spiritual" embryonic and/or fetal development -- all awaiting the return of the LORD, to fulfill His Promise to "Deliver" them, and to reward them, according to their works with roles of co-leadership in His coming Kingdom -- or with punishment for their faithless works, as the case may be [see Matt.25:21-30].

All of this "firstborn generation" of God's Children; God's Family Leaders whom He is calling, now, during this present time dispensation, have the potential to inherit God's Kingdom Roles that will at long last, when Christ returns, begin to teach the "surviving" nations on the earth [see Matt.24:21-22] the Righteous ways of God: the ways of Loving and Caring and Respecting one another. Teaching the nations not to be jealous, to despise, hate, resent, debase, ridicule, murder, steal, lie, etc., that this world has been teaching God's Children since the Garden of Eden.

The role of God's Church should be that of a Loving, Tender, Nurturing pregnant mother, wanting only the best for the spiritually healthy nourishment and development of her, as yet, unborn Children of her Perfect, Loving, Caring, Giving, Selfless Husband.

It's a deeply spiritual role from which the marriages of man can take positive, edifying lessons... if only the spirits of men weren't so blinded and deceived by this world's god.

The work of the church is is to give strength to those who bear witness to the testimony of Jesus that all he said and did is true. The church is those who have asked and have received understanding from Jesus, their words are faithful and true. They have received the white stones of heaven and the morniing star. They are the elect from heaven that bring the truth back to the world. But no one hears them nor sees them but a few.

The Best Church for You

20 Questions to Ask before Joining Any Church

Do you attend church services regularly? Are you a member of a church? If so, why? Over the years, I have learned that most church goers are going to all the wrong churches for all the wrong reasons. "My wife likes it there," one says. Another says, "We have always went there." "They have a good youth program." "My kid's friends go there." "Well, that's just where most people go." "My boyfriend goes there." "They have a large nursery." "I get to sing in the choir." "I teach a Sunday school class." "I like the preacher."

Every reason given above is an UNSCRIPTURAL reason. God never told you to attend "the church of your choice." The devil told you that. God's word is supposed to be your Final Authority in life. God's word is your measuring stick. With God's word you can discern which church is the best church.

The primary issue in choosing a church is DOCTRINE. What does the church believe? No matter how many exciting "programs" the church may have, if they do not believe the right things, then you have no business attending or joining. You are to attend the church of GOD'S CHOICE, not the church of your choice.

Before joining any church, ask for a Statement of Faith and check it carefully. If one is not available, at least speak with the Pastor personally and get answers to the following questions. This concerns YOUR spiritual well- being. You have every right to ask questions. In fact, a genuine Bible-believing Pastor will appreciate you asking doctrinal questions.

The answer to every question should be a very definite "Yes." If the answer is "No" or "I'm not sure," then keep looking because there are better churches to join. A "Yes" answer to each question doesn't guarantee that the church in question will be the best one for you, but it does help you to guard yourself from many of the heresies in our midst.I. Do you believe God has preserved an infallible copy of His word for us today? Psalm 12:6-7; Mat. 24:35 II. Do you believe the King James Bible is God's infallible word for the English speaking people? If the answer is "No," then ask "What is God's infallible word? Can I see a copy?" See question I. III. Rom. 1:4; I Cor. 15:1-4; Rom. 10:9-10; Rev. 1:5; Luke 24:36-39 VII. Do you believe that the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, currently sits at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest? Heb. 3:1; 4:14-15; 8:1; 10:21 VIII. Do you believe that the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment? John 16:7-15; 14:15-17 IX. Do you believe that the apostolic sign gifts of the Holy Spirit, such as speaking in tongues and the gift of healing, are not for today, since they were for the purpose of confirming the preached word of God to Israel in the first century? What is the Church Doing?

In addition to finding out what a church believes, you should also find out what a church is doing. Many churches believe all the right things, yet they are little more than social clubs. A New Testament church should be a working group of Christian soldiers who strive for three primary goals:

(1) The evangelization of sinners. Lost people need the Gospel, and it is the local church's duty to give it to them. Don't join a church where regular efforts are not being made to turn sinners to Christ. This may be done by door-to-door soul winning, street preaching, tract distribution, jail ministries, nursing home ministries, etc. (Acts 20:20; Luke 14:23)

(2) The edification of the saints. Christians need to grow from the word of God. Don't join a church where such activities as chili suppers, donkey rides, hay rides, skating parties and ball games have taken the place of God's word. The sound preaching and teaching of God's word will produce mature Christian ladies and gentlemen who can go on to live Christ honoring lives. Activities alone will produce carnal babies who will hinder the spiritual growth of the church. (I Peter 2:2)

(3) The glorification of the Saviour. Jesus Christ is the head of the church, and He deserves all the glory. Beware of churches which spend lots of time boasting about their attendance, their ministries, or their offerings. Look for Jesus Christ in a church. If you don't see Him real quick, then look for a better church.(Col. 1:14-18; John 16:13-14)

Also, keep in mind that the size of a church is very seldom an indication of its strength. More often than not, the largest churches in a town are the deadest churches in town. By contrast, there are many small churches which God is using mightily. Never make a decision about a church based solely on its size.

In simple terms, the church follows the Great Commission and should "Go forth and make disciples of all nations." Meaning, spread the news of the love and redemption offered so graciously by Jesus Christ.

The role of the Roman Catholic Church is like all denominations of Christianity and that is to send their message of God and how they interpret it. Asking this question is like asking what is the role of Islam, it is a very easy answer.

Roman Catholic AnswerThe "role" of the Roman Catholic Church is to be the Bride of Christ, and His Mystical Body. It fulfills this role in the world by presenting Jesus Christ, and His teaching to the people of God and administering His Sacraments in order to bring them to salvation. It also has a missionary character to both bring the message of Jesus to those who have not been evangelized, and to bring those Christians separated from Catholicism back into communion with the Church. The Catholic Church is not a "denomination".

That depends on who you talk to. The general idea in the American government is the separation of church and state, which protects both religion, by not being controlled by the government, and the government, by not being unduly influenced by religion.

Not all countries do things this way, and for religious people there might be a better ideal of a government run by God, or by God's prophet. But of course in a world where there is so much corruption and where people can't agree on a religion or a God, let alone how to interpret God's wishes or passages of scripture, separation of church and state seems like the very best compromise.
