A backyard wedding, although it might be more casual than other weddings, should still be thought of as a wedding. For women, a short simple summer type dress with sandals and for men, khakis & a short sleeve shirt are appropiate.
That's best done with brides who are obese.
morning suits or black tie attire
The Maid of Honor should wear something different than the Bride in ANY wedding (trust me!)
it all depends on the style of wedding, for instance you dont wear a fancy dress to a casual wedding also it depends on the theme of the wedding if its a winter themed, try wearing a white ruffle blouse and a flowy light blue skirt but is made out of thick material. for boys for a casual wedding a dress shirt, tux and shoes. hope that helps
Backyard Wedding (hallmark movie) isn't on dvd yet. Can't find it to buy it anywhere!
* If it were a black tie wedding then it would be announced in the wedding invitation. Since you haven't done this leave it up to the individual guests as most of the men will wear different colored ties; some with sports jackets and slacks; suits or perhaps just slacks and a shirt with a tie. If you are having a very casual wedding then you could mention 'casual dress.' However, the first suggestion given is generally the best.
Depends on the time of day, place, and how formal. If it is an evening wedding and very formal then you want a dress that is formal and dressy. If it is an afternoon wedding and more casual you could wear a sundress. Your age also has something to do with the style of dress and you need to pick a color that looks good on you. Discuss the wedding with the bride or your sister/brother to find out the type of wedding it is and what they expect.
For everyday wear? Pair it with very-casual shoes (non-white sandals), a ponytail (casual unrefined hair), or a cardigan/sweater. just make it look more casual...you can even add a few pieces of casual jewelry in colors or black. if its for a wedding, don't wear it. its very rude. if its for another evening affair, go ahead and wear it as you wish. you won't look like a bride (as long as you stay away from crystal, diamond, and pearl jewelry!) most brides these days don't wear white anyway. you won't look like a bride if you're wearing white and you're NOT at a wedding.
Jon and Kate Gosselin's first wedding was in a friends backyard.
If you are having a somewhat formal reception in a tent, restaurant, hotel or somewhere that guests are expected to dress up; you can wear your wedding dress (people will want to see you in it) but if you are having a laid back event then don't wear your dress unless it is a casual dress without a train. You can just wear a pretty dress in ivory, blue, pink or pale yellow that isn't a wedding dress.
A couple of ideas are a Barbecue Themed wedding or a Citrus (lemon-lemonade) wedding. You can also have a Garden Themed wedding.
Yes. Jeans are for casual wear. They can be dressed up for semi-casual events, but they are generally not appropriate for more formal settings.
