I've done some research on this and everyone comes up saying to ONLY use Genuine Honda Tranny fluid. You get it at the dealer or online. I believe that all crvs take the same grade.
Added: For AUTOMATIC transmission the manual recommends genuine Honda ATF (naturally), but the 'Haynes Repair Manual' states that Dexron III, is a satisfactory alternative.

you have to put it in the dipstick hole.
I would recommend genuine Honda ATF from the dealer, if not i use dexron III as a temporary substitute.
At the transmission. Look on the right side of the engine down low on the transmission and you will see the dipstick.
check it while its on and in park
look for the yellow dipstick in front of the intake snorkel.
A slipping transmission on a 2002 Mitsubishi can be caused by low fluid levels. Check the fluid should be the first step in troubleshooting the issue.
Look in your owners manual it should tell you in there. If you don't have one just call your Honda dealer and ask them. Usually they will tell you unless they are mad or something.
2.6 US quarts for a change, total capacity 6.4 US quarts, use Honda ATF-Z1 Fluid.
Unless you have a LEAK you shouldn't have to add automatic transmission fluid on a regular basis
