Best Answer

Nature and the life cycle play a significant role in the spiritual life of the Virginia tribes. While the tribes do not have a variety of gods like the Greeks, they were not monotheistic either. They saw the world as created under the control of the Great Spirit. Different tribes have handed down various creation stories and faith traditions. The Pow Wow dance, music, and the drum all play a vital role in the spiritual life of the tribes. After 1607, the tribes were quickly evangelized and converted to Christianity. The remaining eight state-recognized tribes in Virginia to this day have strong Christian denominational identities.
