Canada went to war the same time Britain went to war. Canada was a Dominion of the British Empire therefore most of the population was British. She raised over 600,000 volunteers from a population of 7,000,000 men woman and children. A little more than 60,000 out of a force of 450,000 Canadians remained and are buried in Flanders and France, 180,000 were wounded. Canada's role in WW1 was giving up lots of soldiers and making ammo and stuff

Canada is a allie to Great Britain when Britain called war on Germany after storming belgum and ruining alot of other countrys in Europe. Canada had a low population so there were 600,000 men in total enlisted but 32 000 were set sail Robert borden did not make it compulary to join the army and if you did not you had to wear a white feather to show cowardness but canadains wanted to join. Most of the war machines were suplyed by Britain and Canada did not have alot to work with. Since Canadians are use to harsh weather the Germans were scared of the Canadians in battle and the Canadians had alot of victorys ie Vimy ridge , Paschendale.

What were the signs of postwar success in Canada in the 1950s?

Canada had a small population during recent wars. With a population of just 11.3 Million, Canada had a hard time in the war. However, Canada's contributions were ginormous. Canada's biggest success in the 1950's was airplane. Canada was the number one supplier of airplanes to allied forces furing World War 2. Canada came up with the Lancaster which was one of the biggest successes in the war. After the war, Canada began transforming airforce plans into passenger planes into the 1950's after the Korean War. Canada also pulled down military budget down from 3 Billion a year to 195 Million a year. The 1950's was a breathing point for Canada as it had came out of the Great Depression (which many think Canada was hit the hardest) to World War 2, then the Korean War.
