I think I can remember most of the nations they occupied. The Northern Nations of Africa (which I don't know their names or how to spell them) were occupied and the German Afrika Corps were defeated by the Allied Forces. They occupied the Balkan nations like Serbia, Bosnia and Romania was one of there allies. They occupied Greece, Sicily, Italy, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia. They took back Austria/Hungary area. They occupied France, Belgium, Denmark, The Netherlands and Luxembourg. They also invaded Norway for their ores and to have a seaport location to keep the Russian, Brits and Americans away from seas surrounding Russia and Scandinavia. They gave away some countries to Russia too. I think their names are Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia. I hope I got most of them and did not miss too many.
India, in July 1944, when the Japanese tried to invade but were turned back in the Battle of Imphal. India was still a British territory at the time, not an independent nation. The Japanese had captured two islands in the Aleutian chain of Alaska in June 1942, as a diversion to the Midway campaign. Alaska was not yet a US state, but was a territory. The Japanese had earlier captured US Territories, such as Guam and the Philippines, so this was not the first attack on "US Territory" but was the only one on territory which later became a state. The Japanese attacked Burma (Myanmar) in January 1942 - this may have been the latest initial attack on a nation not previously involved or attacked. Burma was however not completely independent, but was part of the British Commonwealth at the time. The last Axis attack on a completely independent nation may have been when the Nazis overran the Baltic Republics as a concomitant to the invasion of the Soviet Union, which would mean Estonia.
