What were the needs for E equals MC2?

Best Answer

There was no particular 'need' for [ E = mc2 ], and it was not the goal, the

purpose, or the main result of the work during which it was discovered. It just

sort of popped up, out of the Physics and Math of Relativity theory ... a much

more important course of research, with much farther reaching implications, than

just this one little equation.
