Bad temperature sensor? Thermostat opening and closing ============================================================ Well those are possibilities but usually when the temperature starts fluctuating on the 2.2 or 2.5l engines, it is usually a head gasket starting to fail. When this occurs, air (combustion gasses) end up in the cooling system and make their way to the t-stat housing. Then they cause the temperature sending unit and t-stat to have disagreements, lol. I would start with the basics - t-stat, temperature sending unit. Some report having a clogged heater core causing temp fluctuations too.
The hampster's dead
I know that whenever I get gas - I SLOW DOWN!
The 93 Acclaim has a serpentine belt. The tensioner below the alternator is what keeps the tension. If you have not tension I would replace the belt first and then check the tensioner.
4 cyl -650 6 cyl-950 if heads are ok
What are you talking about? My temperature gauge works fine. Though, if it wasn't I would check the temperature sending unit.
temperature gauge not working can be caused by a bad temp sensor in engine, a bad gauge in dash, or a bad fuse
no you need to replace temperature sinding unit
Either the temperature sending unit or the gauge or the wiring in between is bad. I would put my money on the sending unit if the wire harness is plugged in and has no apparent damage.
Engine is overheating, faulty gauge, faulty temp sensor......
Probably a bad ground; they are some times more than one ground too, check them all; make a new one if you have too.
Depends on the fuel injection system. If they are both throttle body it should work, but you might have to swap the ECM.
The temperature sender (the sensor that sends the temperature signal to the gauge) has to be immersed in coolant in order to correctly read the temperature. If the coolant is so low that it leaves the sender high and dry, the temperature shown on the gauge will not be a true reading. if the sensor is not immersed in the coolant, there a big chance it wont read at all...
