The Phoenician civilization came from the so called "people of the sea", of unknown origin, that arrived in ships, first in the region that today is Palestine and Israel, about 20 centuries b.c. and, by conquering the land from the Egiptian's. founded a kind of state that later derived into the Filistins. Centuries later, part of this people moved to the north, and conquered from the hitites the region that correspond today to Lebanon and founded the Phoenician civilization.
