The Moors invaded Spain in the year 711. They officially left in 1492 as per a treaty signed with Ferdinand and Isabella. (This freed up money that had been supporting the military to be used for exploration. That's why Columbus was able to sail in 1492.)

The Moors arrived in 711. On January 2, 1492 the last Moors were defeated militarily and surrendered the Alhambra in Granada. Later in the same year they were forced to convert to Christianity or leave Iberia.

I specifically did not say "Spain" because Spain did not exist at that time. Castile-Leon was one kingdom with a monarch and Aragon was a different kingdom with a different monarch. The three kingdoms became the single kingdom of Spain, under a single, monarch in 1516 when Charles I inherited all three.

The last Moorish kingdom in Spain was defeated in 1492. Many Moors remained in Spain, but Moorish control there was ended.
