Certain drug abuses can start right in the doctor office. If a person is prescribed a narcotic such as codeine, they can become addicted very quickly, even if the doctor says that the addiction rate of the drug is not high, like morphine is considered to have a high addiction rate. After taking the drug (and the person can take only one dose and become addicted) the person becomes addicted. When they try to come off these drugs there are withdrawal symptoms. One of the withdrawal symptoms for codeine is a burning (literally, like your on fire) pain in you muscles. If you were prescibed codeine for pain, it can be confusing whether you should continue not taking it or go back on it. Once you are addicted even if you go through withdraw, you will probably live the rest of your life with "relapses" even if don't take the drug during these relapses they do occur. Usually a relapses is caused by a trigger that the former addicted person as develop it could be a bad injury that causes physical pain, it could be caused by emotional pain or just plain stress. The triggers are different for everyone, they cause a sudden need for the drug even if that person as been clean for years.
