If you have the owners manual, they're in there. They're the same as non-police cars.

Answer . on the bottom passenger's side of the timing cover, down by the crank pulley. It's held into the timing cover by an 8mm bolt. In order to get it out of the timing cover, you may or may not have to remove the AC compressor, I am not sure.\n. \n. \nNote: I'm not really sure what the ab…ove post is about, but the firing order for the 94' Crown Victoria is the same for the police and non-police versions of the engine. 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 The difference is in the computer modules. Answer . Input Axle seal: Have someone remove the drive shaft and the yoke to access the pinion seal. They then need to remove and replace the old seal then reinstall the yoke and drive shaft. Unless you have access to a lift and impact, I'd suggest paying a professional to do it.. If it is not …the axle seals, but is simply the large (~12 inch diameter) gasket bolted onto the back of the differential (~12 bolts). You can replace the gasket easily by removing the differential access cover with a pan to catch the oil (2 quarts/liters) and remove the old gasket. You can replace the old gasket with a silicone bead or with an actual gasket. If you choose to buy a gasket, make sure you buy the right one (two ring gear sizes are available, the interceptor version should have the larger one, 8.8 inches I think, but ask your nearest dealership with you vin #). Clean off the gasket surface of the differential housing and the cover plate, reassemble the gasket/cover/bolts (there's a bracket holding the e-brake cable which is held on by the upper bolts) and torque the bolts to speck (the service desk of your local dealership should be able to tell you the proper torque). Remove the fill plug from the drivers/engine side of the differential (you'll need a 1/2" drive wrench which will fit into the center of the plug, and replace the oil with the specified weight of oil. Reinsert the fill plug and wipe surfaces clean to be able to see if oil is leaking out. (MORE)
Answer . You need to remove the fuse for it, for that you'll need a manual for that model and year.. The above answer is incorrect, sure you could do that but!!!! Check in the glove box to see if there is a round push button switch. If there is and it wasnt removed- this button will disable the …traction control. To verify that it is off there will be a light that says traction control that will light up on the instrument panel. It will reset back to ON everytime the car is shut off. This is on a 1998 p71 Crown victoria, an LX Vic should be the same. (MORE)
Answer Can be tricky -may be dial-sensor at trans -or gear on shaft that turns sensor --even wiring or connection or the computer.
well you can start by contacting ford, being that Ford has only made the interceptor motor.
the adjustment is made from under the driver side of the car, just in front of the rear wheel (it is a cable with a spring and a metal clip). Press and release the parking brake twice, then jack up the car (if you cannot get under it), using a flat screwdriver, pull the metal clip and the spring wil…l pull the cable tight. Make sure the metal clip goes back (you may have to push it). If the spring is fully expanded then you no longer have adjustment and will probably need professional replacement of the parking brake cable or other parts. (MORE)

Answer . All Crown Victoria Police Interceptor 4.6 engine models retain the same amount of horsepower and torque throughought to present. It is 225 horsepower with 290 ft lbs. of torque.. Now from an experts point of view: All Crown Victorias do have a 4.6L V8 regardless of whether or not they a…re police interceptors, but the interceptors have upgraded computers which increase the HP. I sell these cars and I KNOW that every year they get faster and faster regardless of the fact that Ford never changes the listed HP of actually 250 not 225. You have 4 ....Yes 4. The exhaust is the same for both sides. Manifold - 02-catylitic converter-02 cat-pipe to rear of car. Crawl under there you will see them.
Stop the next same car you see on the road, politly ask , and copy it.
You would have to reprogram/reflash the ECC (Engine Control Computer). Need to go faster that 125 MPH???

What's wrong with it? No light, no electricity to the bulb socket, loose in ceiling...? Radioman
Take the bulbs out. That's ONE solution, the other is to unplug the special wire connector that is under the dash panel. The Police Interceptors were rated by Ford at 250 horsepower forpricing reasons, but its actual output is 360 horsepower at thecrank (up to 380 for the 2008-2011 models). My dad tells me thatall police cars have turbo engines.
It is located under the car, in front of the RR wheel, on the inside edge of the frame rail. It has an inlet and outlet line. one on each end.
yea they would fit on a crown vic. but you would have to get a 7 to 10 inch lift kit, ( i would go with donkkings.com and you problay would want to go with the 295/25/28 series tire to give it that non monster truck look. A Vic interceptor has a duel exhaust and a larger air box, while most Vics (except the lx sport) have a single exhaust and a more restrictive air box. So and interceptor has around 25 more horsepower then a stock Vic, that equals around 250 horsepower.

There is not really much to troubleshoot. Either it works or it does not. If the bendix slips and does not engage then you have to replace the starter. The 3rd bolt is very difficult to reach.
It's only condensation. Once it is burned off or leaks out, that is it. This is normal.

at any ford dealer service center, usually is you have a good attitude they'll print it out for free.
It just all depends. Personally I've seen 135MPH, but that doesnt mean one can't go faster.
Mine has the child safety latch that allows to change the back doorto be opened from the inside. Its in the edge of the door that runsagainst the body when closed. Im not sure if they all are like thatbut the ones not used as patrol cars should be like that. Also mineis a 99 don't know if that makes… a difference. If you have an interceptor the bars inside the door lock mechanismare non existent. You will have to go to the dealer or a junk yardfor the parts to allow the door to be opened from the inside. Check/ replace the blower resistor. Located in the duct work under the hood. Follow the wires from the blower motor to a plug on the duct work. This is the resistor
Yes, you should be able to do so although you may have to modify the radiator mountings or shroud. A "civilian" Crown Vic radiator has a smaller fluid capacity and probably a smaller power steering fluid heat sink, but for "normal" driving this should not be a problem. If the police Crown VIc is goi…ng to be placed into taxicab service, I would strongly recommend spending the money for the police package replacement radiator. (MORE)
Does the 1996 ford crown victoria police interceptor have a solenoid or relay that is not on the starter?
The start solenoid for all 1966 USA Ford passenger cars is on the passenger side under hood, (bonnet) between the radiator core support and wheelwell. Some are mounted directly to the passenger side wheelwell.
While strong and reliable, the Crown Victoria's design dates all the way back to 1992 (the platform itself dates back to 1979) and was in serious need of updating. As such, Ford decided to phase out the Crown Vics altogether and replace them with a Police Interceptor version of the Taurus.
he current production Ford products have what is called a "Lighting Control Module". This "LCM", as it's called has TOTAL control over virtually every light installed on the vehicle. It takes inputs from various sources and provides lighting control in accordance with it's programming. For the owner…, there are not too many "features" that we can re-program at the user level. One is the DRL function (if equipped with daytime running lights), and the other is "Dark Car". The Dark Car (DC) mode is common on Police and other Law Enforcement vehicles. It allows the opening of any door without the chimes or dome lamps being activated. This mode is entered by grounding a specific terminal on the LCM. The CV/GM/TC have this grounding connector supplied by the factory, and left in the open circuit application (normal lighting). The connector is located near the top of the carpeting just to the right side of the center console, and is a single pole blue connector (one wire in, one wire out). To ACTIVATE Dark Car: -disconnect the battery, or if you prefer, pull fuses #4,8,&12 in the central junction box (you won't lose your presets etc.) -locate the blue single pole connector to the right of the central console, near the carpet edge, and plug the two ends of the connector together -reconnect the battery (replace fuses) -cycle doors to verify changes Note: the dome light will remain operational from the Headlamp switch position To DE-Activate Dark Car (enable "normal" dome lighting): -disconnect battery (or pull fuses) -locate and disconnect the single pole blue connector to the right of the central console -reconnect battery (replace fuses) -cycle the doors to verify changes. The LCM needs to have it's "keep alive" power interrupted to cause it to re-examine it's programming, so you do need to disconnect the power sources before any changes will take effect. I suppose, you could just unplug the harnesses to the LCM to disrupt it's power, but I'd much rather pull fuses than "stand" on my head pulling connectors. Congratulations, you now know more about your car than the average person. If this does NOT return your vehicle to "normal" lighting, most likely either the wires were cut near the LCM to disable the door signals, or the door switch connectors have been unplugged at the switch located on the latch assemblies inside the door(s). The Ford Crown Victoria police interceptor car would catch fire after a high-speed rear collision. Also the steel wheels would rust and the rack and pinion steering units would fail prematurely. The weld points in the wheels would come loose.
