We now know that even the simplest free-living cell is incredibly complex. Pasteur and other scientists also demonstrated that Abiogenesis (life from non-life) was impossible. The Law of Biogenesis (Life only comes from life) still stands as a law, with not one single demonstrated exception, despite evolutionary belief. Thus, life cannot evolve if it cannot even begin under the naturalistic philosophy, into more and more complex life, eventually leading to animals.
