> I believe its just off the Gold Coast in Queensland just South of Brisbane. That is correct. We see each evening that it is QLD as the time shown on TV is 10hrs ahead of GMT whereas the rest of Eastern Australian is GMT +11 If you search for rainforest then head S from Brisbane down the Gold Coast towards Coolangattaand the NSW border and then inland.
The Queensland National Parks of Lamington, Springbrook and Numinbah are in that region. Perhaps the filming can't be done in a National Park but could be close by.
The filming team do not publicise their location of course to avoid in situ fan clubs and thus hindrances. **Meanwhile, I found out that the filming location was in Springbrook NP and the candidates and nearest & dearest are housed in the Palazzo Versace Hotel on Surfers' Paradise nr Southport QLD **
Check out https://www.epa.qld.gov.au/projects/park/listing.cgi?region=68
which has a handy map and pics of those NPs
NOTE:
Queensland Tourism is concerned that the programme portrays Australia and Queensland as a place full of snakes, rats, mice, critters and other nasty creepy crawlies. As the programme doctor says on a video, he is brought in with the various critters needed for the programme. I have been in Western Australia 5 times and never saw a redback spider and I have been in Queensland 4 or more times and never even saw a snake.
I did see cane toads up in sugar cane country Bundaberg and a #7 iron is the best thing to have for them. Some idiot imported them some years back to cure one cane problem and now they are the bigger problem. You should cover your eyes with glases if you play Golf with them however ;-). Seriously though - they need culling. Gari
There is the area on Google Maps that the I'm a celebrity site is. The buildings just slightly north are the crew and staff areas. If you look among the trees some rope bridges and towers can be seen. Unfortunately the camp site itself is obscured by the trees
When you select a map in 'My Maps' there should be a 'View in Google Earth' link in upper right that you can click.Google has removed the 'View in Google Earth' link from the Google Maps options, however, you can still transfer it to Google Earth. First click the link icon then copy the URL under the 'Paste link in email or IM' label. Next, append "&output=kml" to the URL (without the quotes) and open it in your web browser to launch Google Earth.UPDATE:Note that this trick has been removed as of August 2012 and Google Maps no longer supports the undocumented output=kmlparameter.Google has documented how to share data from Google Maps to Google Earth - see related link below.
