The governor is in the ECU and is only bypassed by modifying the ECU code. There are 2 versions of the car, the standard version is governed to 108mph and the autobahn version is governed at 138 (iirc).
Is there spark at the plus? is there fuel pressure to the injectors?
The battery is under the back seat.

often they put it as a part of the computer so it can't be removed but I'm not sure about your particular car
Move the seat all the way forward then remove the nuts or bolts from rear. Move the seat all the way back then remove the front nuts or bolts. Tip the seat back and disconnect the electrical plug(s). Remove the seat from vehicle.
