LCD and plasma are very different display technologies but both produce good results. Plasma is the more mature technology but LCD has been developed rapidly over the last few years.
It is difficult to say that one is better than the other. Plasma is known for its higher contrast ratio but LCD is fast catching up as far as contrast is concerned. On the other hand, plasma has had persistence issues in the past, with image trails appearing in fast moving pictures. That also is being improved at the same time that LCD response times are also improving.
So, to end with a conclusion, before buying a television, look a the picture and decide which is the best looking image. The type of technology is far less important than selecting a television that is pleasing to watch.
good picture quality than lcd
No most people consider lcd tvs better than plasma tvs. Plasma tvs are harder to fix than lcd tvs. Lcd tvs also have a clearer picture than plasma tvs do.
Plasma is better than LCD TV because of its excellent picture graphics, contrast ratios, reliability etc.
Plasma TVs are better because they offer absolutely no lag time compared to LCDs and they have the highest black levels. Plasmas will use slightly more power, but overall better picture quality. LCD TVs are slightly more inexpensive, but comparing them side to side with a Plasma You will see the difference in quality.
A plasma television has a higher picture quality over a larger sized screen, and better colour definition, especially deeper blacks. There is also less lag on moving images, and it can be viewed from wider angles.
LCD TV screens weigh less and use less energy than plasma TV screens, but plasma has better picture and colors. LCD screens are thinner than plasma screens as well.
Generally an LCD TV is also an HD TV. Perhaps you're asking if a Sony LCD TV is better than a plasma tv? If you're going for a TV over 50", plasma is a better deal, with its excellent picture quality. If you're looking for something under 42", LCD is great deal.
I would get the plasma screen TV. They have a much better picture and they are much better to watch movies on than a LCD TV. They also cost less than the LCD TVs.
LCD TV picture quality today is a big improvement over the past, with option like LED backlighting for even greater depth and contrast. Price is the main advantage of LCD over plasma, offering a comparable picture at a mere fraction of the cost. Plasma is still expensive so you should also figure in the cost of a warranty, while with prices starting in the low hundreds, an LCD TV is an affordable purchase. LCD's are generally cheaper, but plasmas have better picture quality. Plasmas used to wear out and the colors got messed up after a couple years, but in newer ones that is no longer the case, so I would suggest plasma.
LCD is better for hd viewing and the colours wil be more bright on lcd but plasma has got a glass screen and the colours are a little bit dimmer but the picture is great for standard viewing aswell as hd viewing , i have a lcd and for standard viewing the upsetted me but a hd plasma i have to say is better than a lcd in my opinion
Plasma screen TVs differ from LCD or LED TVs. Plasma TVs use electrically charged ionized gas to display the picture. The advantages of a plasma TV are that they provide a clearer and better picture than LCD or LED TVs.
The difference between a plasma and widescreen lcd tv is that a plasma has less of a viewing range. They both have great video quality.
