Which is better and why - Answers.com or Yahoo Answers?

As a previous member of Yahoo Answers, I can very firmly say Answers.com is much better.
Here is why:

• Answers.com has a dedicated team of Vandal Patrollers who root out cyberbullying as quickly as it comes to attention and deals with the bullies accordingly. Yahoo on the other hand does not take the same zero tolerance approach to bullying on their website.
  
  
• The Vandal Patrol Supervisors on Answers actively patrol the contributions to try and weed out all the vandalism, rule violations, ToU violations and law violations in the community. Yahoo only intervenes if something is reported, rather than dealing with issues in real-time. This means that some things on Yahoo don't get dealt with for years after being reported. Understandably some things do slip through the fingers of Answers Supervisors, considering there is a team of just over 1,000 international Supervisors dealing with millions of daily visitors.
  
  
• Answers protects intellectual property by removing copyrighted material from the website promptly. Yahoo on the other hand has an extremely complicated process to go through to request removal of stolen intellectual property.
  
  
• Yahoo lets anyone become a "trusted answerer" based on their statistics. Statistics do not make someone a good answerer and they can be falsified. Answers on the other hand allows only those who have proven themselves to be Experts in a certain or multiple topics to become officially recognised experts in the community.
  
  
• Answers gives people access to a large team of international Supervisors whom they can contact for assistance at any time. Yahoo forces people through loops and roundabouts to contact someone when they need help.
  
  
• Answers.com abides by the law known as Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), protecting children from the dangers online by restricting their access to the website. Yahoo Answers does not actively ensure they follow this COPPA law as strictly as Answers does. Therefore Yahoo is a breeding ground for dangerous individuals to prey on the young.
  
  
• Answers has a dedicated educational program for teenagers, called WikiAnswers Influential Teens, with a dedicated and trained team to work with them. The program teaches teenagers how to be a good role model on the internet, how to avoid or report bullying, how to be safe online, advice on education issues such as college applications and many more. Yahoo does not.
  
  
• Answers sometimes hosts scholarships and has reward programs that sends merchandise to certain people in certain programs here. Yahoo does not.
  
  
• Answers.com values quality over quantity. Poor contributions and poorly-written content are being actively improved every single day to provide visitors with a pleasurable experience on Answers.com. We even have a program called "WikiReviewers" which is dedicated to improving the quality of contributions and content. Yahoo on the other hand does not take any notice of poorly-written content and leaves it lying around on their website, they care more about the number of people who visit, rather than the accuracy of the information.
  
  
• We have a program called Community Outreach on Answers.com which is dedicated to getting in touch with and thanking really good contributors for their time here. Just a little something to let them know we appreciate them. Yahoo doesn't care.
  
  
• Answers has two dedicated programs called The Initiates Program and Mentoring Program which both trains good contributors to become Supervisors. Contributors who are recognised as potential Supervisors first join the Initiates Program for assessment. If they graduate, they then join the Mentoring Program to be trained to become a Supervisor. This means Answers Supervisors are professionals. Yahoo lacks these initiatives.
  
  
• Becoming a Supervisor on Answers is a transferable skill which can be mentioned on a curriculum vitae/resume and Job Applications. Yahoo offers no transferable skills.
  
  
• Admittedly, Yahoo is easier for new members to navigate around than Answers. However Answers offers more features and tools. Eventually new users will learn their way around Answers easily (and can easily get in touch with Supervisors for assistance).
  
  
• Answers has a brand selection feature when asking questions about brands. This sends the question you asked to a representative of that brand, who occasionally visit Answers to give the answer you need about their brand. Yahoo lacks this feature.
  
  
• Yahoo allows questions that are silly, ridiculous or pure nonsense. It is a "for entertainment purposes" website. Answers on the other hand is an educational website that does not allow such content.
  
  
• Answers.com is frequented by celebrities, such as:
  
  • Author Stephen King
  • Olympic medallist Kayla Harrison
  • Actor Chris Colfer
  And many more. You can even ask them questions here. Yahoo however is mainly snubbed by celebrities due to the poor ways of which the community is operated and their disregard for intellectual property.
