Westboro Baptist Church is a small 'church'(regarded as a sect by other Christians) to the Phelps family and consists mostly of their family members. It was started by Fred Phelps, who is their current pastor. They are known for their "God Hates Fags" campaign. The things they have been against include, but are not limited to, Americans (the ironic thing is that they are American), British, Irish, Catholics and other Christians, Jews and soldiers. They have protested by roads, at funerals, and at memorials. They have said that God caused terrorist attacks, school shootings - including those of Christian children, etc. to kill gay people and people who support gay people. Things they have said are "God hates fags," "Thank God for 9/11, Columbine, Virginia Tech, etc.," "God hates our soldiers," "It's too late too confess." They have provided information with "Bible verses" that they made up, denying some of the actual scriptures like "Remove the log from your own eye before telling your friend to remove the speck from their eye." They have denied the Holocaust, saying that "the true Nazis are fags," when gay people have barely done any killing. They say that every other religion - including most Christian groups - are bad due to small flaws they have, denying the many flaws they have. They campaign against Billy Graham and Mennonites and are not viewed as a genuine church by the majority of- if not all other - churches. Their website is godhatesfags.com. Also, they hate Oscar Wilde, but I can't figure out if it's because he's Irish, Catholic, literate or gay.
