the house of representatives
Congress. The Senate tries impeachments while the House of Represenatives actually impeach. Once the Senate convicts a president or other official of impeachment, their removal from office is immediate.
Well this year Bush was elected into office for his second term
If he has been elected President only once, he usually runs for President.
Four years. A president can be re-elected once for another four years.
Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) - elected to four terms. After FDR, the 22nd Amendment ratified in 1951, limited the presidential office to two terms. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.
A person may be elected U. S. President a maximum of twice, unless he/she served at least two years of a term to which he/she was not elected, then only once.
2 times. (4 year terms; only 8 years all together.) A president may only be elected twice to the office of president, although a former president may have other positions in government after he is out of office.
Amendment 22 - Presidential Term Limits. Ratified 2/27/1951.1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.
He can serve one day shy of half of another term if he assumed office after the president resigned or died. Other than that, two terms (8 years) is the limit. The 22nd Amendment says:Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.
The maximum amount of time one person can be a US President is 10 years. The Twenty Second Amendment to the US Constitution states that:"No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once."So, if a person (the vice-president) takes the office of the President in the first or second year of the preceding President's term, they may only be elected to the office for one four year term. However, if they take the office of President in the third or fourth year of the term, they may then be elected for two four year terms, thus being able to hold the office for a total of ten years.
It is 2 4 year terms so all together 8 years and they do not have to be back to back. The exact text of the 22nd Amendment:"Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once."
