There were several invasions of Cuba. First, the island was colonized by Christopher Columbus, who claimed it for Spain. In 1898, as part of the Spanish-American war, the United States invaded Cuba. In 1961, a number of Cuban exiles who had been forced out (or who had voluntarily left) when Fidel Castro took power, tried to reclaim the island, in what came to be known as the Bay of Pigs invasion. Their efforts failed and Cuba remained under the control of Castro.
Technically, Cuba has never been conquered by anyone. Cuba was discovered by Columbus in 1492 and was colonized by Spain. Cuba gained its independence from Spain after the Spanish-American War and became a republic in 1902.
yes it was azzhole
I believe you are trying to reference the Bay of Pigs invasion.
We, as Americans, were concerned about communist Cuba (with Fidel Castro as their head of government) and their threat posed because of their ties with the Soviet Union. We did not want Cuba (about 50 miles from the Florida coast) to be able to attack us using Soviet weapons.
Because of this, the CIA was ordered by John F. Kennedy (less than 3 months into office in April 1961, when the attack took place) to recruit and train ex-Cuban citizens to invade the country and overthrow Fidel.
The attack was an absolute failure and only agitated relations between the communist Soviets/Cubans and the Americans.
America did not directly invade Cuba per se, rather, during what was known as the bay of pigs invasion. America wasn't thinking straight and decided it would be a terrific idea to arm a bunch of untrained criminals and low-lifes with weapons to overthrow the new Cuban government. The invasion ended in a complete disaster and not only invigorated Castro and his government but just embarrassed the rgeat nation of America greatly.
On January 1st, 1959 Cuba invaded a place called Bay Of Pigs!

Brigade 2506, a US counter-revolutionary force, invaded Cuba in April 1961. Known as the Bay of Pigs Invasion, its purpose was to attempt to overthrow the government established by Fidel Castro. It did not succeded.
one was that they wanted the us to promise not to invade
The Bay of Pigs Invasion was an unsuccessful attempt by a CIA trained force of Cuban exiles to invade southern Cuba with support from US government armed forces to overthrow the Cuban government.
