Winnie the pooh (formally Edward Bear) was created as Edward in 1924 by A A Milne and then as Winnie in 1926
Winnie the pooh was created by A.A. Milne, a British author, in his popular series of Children's Books. The character was inspired by his son Christopher Robin's stuffed bear, which was named Winnie after a real bear from the London Zoo, and the character's adventures were brought to life by the illustrations of E.H. Shepard.
The English author A.A. Milne which is pronounced Millun. I cannot fathom why a man who was capable of adult detective stories(which he wrote) would set such a bad example for children by the use of deliberate spelling errors which formed most of the comedy in the (Winnie The Pooh) safari. I cannot think of any other preschool kiddy material which habitually used uncorrected bad English (Cartoons on TV such as Donald Duck) and more mature comic strips such as (Lil abner) really Little Abner) can be pressed into service, but Winnie angled at the most childish set. I can"t see anything funny about misspelled words: Hunny, Rabbit Howse, Tigger, EEyore for the Donkey (Hee-Haw, usually two words, hyphenated is the most common usage for the Bray!) Also aside from Kanga , there were no female characters in the traditional Winnie the Pooh, a common flaw in animal tales and animal cartoons, such as (Wind in the Willows, essentially a novelized animal cartoon)
A A Mile did so to entertain his son Christopher Robin
