In Thebes, Heracles married King Creon's daughter, Megara, who bore him three sons. In a fit of madness he killed her and their children. His second marriage was to Deianira, the daughter of the king of Calydon. Note: Hercules/Heracles married a third time, this after becoming a deity. He wed Hebe, the daughter of Zeus and Hera.

Firstly, there was Megara. Hera sent Hercules a fit of madness, making him kill his wife and their children.
Secondly, there was Deianira, who ended up unintentionally killing Hercules. She committed suicide.
Lastly, there was Hebe, who was Hercules's immortal wife after he became a god.

Hera caused Heracles to go mad and slay his children and wife, Megara.
A centaur offered to help him and his wife cross a river. Heracles had to cross the river while his wife went over with the centaur. the centaur tried to run off with his wife but was shot by a poison arrow. the centaur took off his fur and told the wife to give it to Heracles's. Later when the wife heard he was cheating on her, she sent the fur to him and he died from the poison still on it.

Heracles/Hercules was the son of Zeus by another woman (other than Hera/Juno); therefore, this made her very angry.
Heracles was a demigod, born from a mortal mother, Alcmena and the almighty king of the gods, Zeus. Heracles was believed to have inhuman strength, courage and ingenuity. He accomplished 12 tasks set for him by King Eurystheus (who had claimed Heracles' throne) which became know as the Twelve Labors of Heracles. He was hated by Zeus' wife, Hera and she tormented him, driving him mad enough to kill his and Megara's (his wife) children and later his best friend, Iphitus, as revenge for her husband's infidelities.
