Who is ben schoppe?

Sometimes confused with Chuck Norris.

Ben Schoppe( or you can call him daddy) Schoppe has been known to pull a cork and has run into trouble with the law many , many times in his life. also known to have fallen off a 160ft cliff, landed on a boulder, and survived to later be attacked by a grizzly bear while working as a lumberjack in the upper Yukon.

During the Civil war Schoppe rode with Capt Quantrill and Bloody Bill Anderson in many raids in Kansas. after the war, he drove cattle out of Texas to Montana to start the first cattle ranch there. he joined the rough riders in the Spanish war, helping Theodore Roosevelt charge up San Juan hill. in between the wars schoppe traveled the world, he found the lost Ark of the Covenant, and the Holy Grail( both he rescued from the Nazis). he fall in love with a french spy in Casablanca on the eve of World War2.

During WW2 Ben flow a PBY Catalina flying boat hunting down German U-boats. he was shot down in Greenland

Discoverd in the early 1950s by Inuits hunting polar bears. traveling back to Utah, Schoppe found that the world had forgotten about him. Now broke and jobless, he wandered in the desert, building a some cabin near the Colorado river. here he discovered uranium and started a small boom town called Moab (named after his great uncle). selling his claim and town to Charle Steen, he moved out to nevada to work on developing nuclear power. this soon became his passion and consumed his life. after an attempted assassination by the Soviet Kermlin, he was honorable discharged and fall into drink and depression

It wasn't until an old friend lyndon B Johnson came to him. Johnson asked Schoppe to be his Vice-President in his 1964 election. after serving four years as VP, he enlisted to serve in Veitnam. he was stationed in the same outfit as Lt Dan and was wounded in the Buttocks during an intense firefight with Veit-cong. he received the Purple heart and Silver star for his actions in battle. returning home found his dear friend LBJ had died and the gold price in china was through the roof. he then became disillusioned about the war. taking the name...Gert B. Frobe, he traveled the western united states with a pack of wild gypsys in a small black, red, white striped van.

Schoppe was thus lost again from reality, until while working at a bowling alley in Hamilton Montana, he met Mark Knopfler. The two then started a small band named Dire Straits. Dire Straits won numerous music awards during their career. leaving the band in 1984 to start his solo career, Schoppe toured with many such as Sammy Hagar, Bruce Springsteen, AC/DC, Cinderalla, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, and Tom petty. He wrote the song Every rose has its thorn for his friend Brett Michaels.

Ben, after retiring from music returned home to Ephraim Ut. here he begin teaching at Manti High and became the FFA advisor for Manti as well.
