Ralph Abernathy (March 11, 1926 - April 17, 1990) was a leader in the American Civil Rights Movement and a close associate of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Abernathy died from two blood clots that traveled to his heart and lungs. He is buried in Lincoln Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia.
