i know one fighter he was a light heayweight he fought in the 70s his name was James Scott he fought in Rahway State Pen in Newjersey

Remember Marlon Starling's tragic bout in 1979 at the Hartford Civic Center -against- Charlie Newell, who -died- nine days after the fight? Charlie they say was in jail at the time and allowed out to compete.

ALL KINDS OF BOXERS that are inmates constantly box in jail. Nick Cage used to have a team that would come watch the fighters all the way down here in Louisiana at Angola. If you're a good enough boxer, guys like Cage can actually 'buy your time'....it's been done many times...

Clifford Etienne was the only one from here that ever made it big, recently. Google "Tyson Spinal Interview" and that's after he beat Clifford.

Most famous guy I can think of who did it is Sonny Liston. One son among 25 of a sharecropper, he stole his brothers pecan bowl to buy a bus ticket to Chicago...Ended up in jail or whatever and a priest saw him boxing, and that's how he went big.
