It is not just the Jews who are the 4th tribe of Israel, but all 12 tribes that God set aside as a unique peoples for Him - an example to all. They failed and God sent His Son Jesus, to establish His Church for those called by Him (John 6:44, 65). Today, these are called Spiritual Israelites or true Christians.

Jews are called the Chosen People because God chose them to make a covenant with him and pursue his commandments. The separation between Jews and non-Jews is made most pronounced in Leviticus 19:2 when God declares the Jews are to be holy because God is holy.
