"homo habilis died out because homo sapiens took over"

Actually, I'm pretty sure H. habilis went extinct between 1.6 and 1.4 million years ago whereas Homo sapiens originated about 200,000 years ago. It is possible that Homo ergaster could have driven Homo habilis to extinction, although probably not violently. More likely, it was a combination of multiple factors. I'd guess the usual culprits: climate change, scarcity of food due to Homo ergaster eating all of it...

The exact reason for the disappearance of Homo erectus is still debated among scientists. Some theories suggest that environmental changes, competition with other early human species, or a lack of adaptability to new challenges may have contributed to their extinction. Additionally, interbreeding with other species like Homo sapiens could have led to their genetic assimilation rather than a complete disappearance.

More advanced species developed due to minor and beneficial mutations giving them an advantage over Homo Erectus. Think of it this way, if you needed to fight another species with the same exact specifications, wouldn't it be a great bonus to know how to use a shotgun (Or at the time how to throw rocks).

Hope this helps!!!

There is no clear reason why H. Erectus disappeared, but possibly because of competition. However, findings have shown their ability to create primitive tools and weapons, as well as control fires.

The Homo Erectus has lived much longer than Homo Sapiens have so far, and there is still some scepticism as to if they are our ancestors; which would deem them not "extinct," but "evolved." H. Erectus have a number of subspecies present, however, the fate of these subspecies are also unknown.

Homo floresiensis most likely went extinct due to a volcanic eruption on the island of Flores. Stegadon was also wiped out by this volcanic eruption. Little is still know about this early Homo sapien relative, many wonder if it even was a different human species.
